I'm extremely thankful for the chance to head out to West Yellowstone to spend my favorite holiday with my college teammates, as I have for 5 of the past 6 years. As always, it was a little chaotic, but very fun! We were very lucky to arrive in West to just enough snow to ski. I enjoyed seeing some familiar faces from my time in Montana while out skiing and during my brief swing through Bozeman on the way. We held a typical Bowdoin thanksgiving feast and shared everything we were thankful for with each other. After yet another successful thanksgiving full of skiing and fun, I headed back to Minnesota to get ready for the rapidly oncoming SuperTour in Duluth.
I am now back in Minneapolis, and lucky to have "skiing" on "snow" just down the hill from me at Wirth park. While the training is limited, it'll do to get ready for next weekend. As I told someone last week: I'm ready for the races, but not the most ready I'll be for anything this winter. After last year's many frustrating races at altitude, I'm looking forward to racing in some thicker air. My racing style developed in and for this environment, and it will hopefully give me a little competitive edge, despite not yet being at peak fitness.
